Happy New Year!
Chateau Ridge is starting to look like a new house!
The end of January was a very productive time for the Chateau Ridge Project! We now have walls framed out in the basement and on the first floor, which is really coming together.
The bulkhead in the kitchen has been made significantly smaller so it appears much less invasive in the kitchen area, and the beam in the kitchen has been placed into the ceiling so that the kitchen / living room now appears to be one continuous space!
Since we now have walls, we have been working with Mid-South Building Supply to design and order cabinets for the new kitchen. We have selected tile, wood flooring color, granite color and the cabinet color! We have also selected kitchen appliances and kitchen and bath fixtures.
The lighting plan is complete. Electricians and plumbers have done rough-ins for their particular jobs, and we are looking to have some awesome progress throughout February, including drywall, lighting, and flooring installed.
The hardwood flooring on the second floor is going to remain, while the first floor is going to be replaced to make it much more consistent across the entire first floor. The floors will then be sanded and stained the same color.
The basement is going to have a custom bartop built by Maryland Wood Countertops. We have worked a bar into the plans so that the new residents will have a place to relax. There will also be a bathroom in the basement and we are working to enclose the utilities into a room so that it will have a more finished look.
Matt Ludwig, with Ludwig Design and Production has measured for railings and banisters for the staircases. He has done some great work with us in the past as well. Check out the staircase detail from a previous project we designed and built on Hull St in Baltimore.
There has been such amazing progress throughout the month, and even in these snowy / rainy conditions. We are getting excited to see the final outcome of all of the hard work!
